Testing Experiences

A lot of people are scared to get tested for HIV, but it's important to remember that it's often scarier in your mind than in real life.
At the clinic before the test you’ll be told how the test works, you can talk about any risks you’ve taken or how you might react to your result.
Health Advisers are there to answer your questions, and will help guide you through what will happen and explain the results, positive or negative.
Terrence Higgins Trust and the AHPN/HEAL partnership have jointly launched a radio campaign to promote access to HIV testing among sexually active Africans.
We recorded the stories of six people who had tested for HIV, and you can listen to them by clicking on the images below.
