Sexually transmitted infections
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are some of the most common infections in the UK but many can be cured and others treated effectively.
What are STIs?
STIs are passed on through body fluids, such as blood, vaginal fluid, saliva and semen. So you don't have to have sexual intercourse to get an STI - other skin-to-skin contact can pass them on too. This means it is important to be tested regularly for STIs.
